Have you ever donated durable home medical or assistive technology devices to REquipment? Requested a device you needed? Referred a family member, friend, client, or neighbor?
Today, please tell your state legislators you love us!
Tomorrow, February 11th, the Joint Committee on Ways and Means is holding a hearing to consider the Governor’s Budget proposal for Fiscal Year 2027. That proposal strips $500,000 from REquipment, a 35.7% cut that would effectively end the statewide reuse program relied on by so many Massachusetts residents with disabilities for equipment that insurance won’t or is slow to provide.
Show your support for the REquipment reuse program. Contact your state lawmakers today. Tell them they must protect REquipment from this devastating budget cut.
If you have a personal story to share, terrific, but it’s not necessary.
What matters is that they hear from each of us, in every corner of the state, who has been touched by this program.
Access to free, timely, gently used equipment has transformed lives across the Commonwealth, and REquipment is needed now more than ever.
Contacting your lawmakers is swift and easy. Go to tinyurl.com/REQadvocacy and enter your address. The tool identifies your lawmakers, provides a draft letter to use and/or edit, and sends. There’s also a call button and a draft phone script.
Thank you for taking action to keep REquipment beyond June 30th, 2026 (the end of the current fiscal year).
Thank you for all that you do to make REquipment’s success stories possible. Your voice matters.
