Hands on a globe of the earth

First held on April 22, 1970, Earth Day is an annual event celebrating environmental awareness and stewardship. Many organizations recognize Earth Day by picking up trash on the roadside, cleaning up vacant lots, cleaning the banks of lakes and rivers, or making sure that beaches and parks are free from litter and debris. This year there’s another way to honor Earth Day: bring your gently-used, no-longer-needed durable medical equipment (DME) to a donation drive in Western Massachusetts. Help us celebrate 5 years keeping DME out of landfills and in the hands of neighbors who need it!

Join us:

Saturday, April 21st from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at UCP ’s office at 535 Curran Highway, North Adams, Massachusetts.

or

Monday, April 23rd from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Stavros Center for Independent Living, 227 Berkshire Avenue, Springfield, Massachusetts.

We are grateful for our reuse partners, United Cerebral of Berkshire County and Stavros Center for Independent Living, for joining us to co-host these events.

Items we accept include:

gently-used power and manual wheelchairs, scooters, sling lifts, standers, rollator-style walkers, tub seats and shower chairs, adapted strollers, portable ramps, gait trainers and similar devices. We accept equipment with no rips, tears or stains only.

Items we do not accept include:

canes, crutches, walkers, commodes or hospital beds.

Donated DME is sanitized, refurbished and made available to people throughout Massachusetts from our online inventory. Individuals and organizations donate DME to benefit seniors, people with disabilities including children, and veterans.

Have equipment to donate but can’t attend a drive? Contact us at info@dmereuse.org or call 1 -800-261-9841.

Celebrate Earth Day in a new way. Donate your unused durable medical equipment and help your neighbors stay independent in their homes and communities. This Earth Day Choose to Reuse Your DME!

REquipment Earth Day Donation Drives are made possible with funding from a Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation Quality of Life Grant.
